Shilpi is an award-winning filmmaker and educator. Her debut film, WHEN THE STORM CAME - a haunting tale of one village's survival of harrowing mass rape in Kashmir- premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, garnering the most prestigious award for its category: the Grand Jury Prize. After re-packaging the film with narration by Radha Mitchell (Melinda and Melinda, and Finding Neverland), it was short-listed for the 2005 Academy Awards. Shilpi was just nominated for three Emmy Awards for her work at CBS News.
Shilpi felt compelled to pursue this story, CHANGING THE GAME, after teaching documentary production through the Sundance Institute in Salt Lake City and with teens in the Bronx. She was fueled by the idea that a positive exciting tool - soccer - can unite youth from any background into a global story of hope and empowerment. Shilpi has dedicated nearly five years to this labor of love and is dedicated to using this film to inspire kids around the world to change the game in their own lives.

Bridget Pickering

Bridget is a veteran of the industry who has produced and directed over 20 films that have aired across the world. Most notably, she was the co-producer on HOTEL RWANDA, the Oscar-nominated feature film. She brings with her the full-weight of her powerhouse production company, Fireworx Media, which she formed in 2008 with Emmy Award-Winning Dan Jawitz and Neil Brandt. Their project have been financed internationally by broadcasters such as BBC, PBS and ARTE, and by the likes of the Sundance Fund, Jan Vrijman, Fonds Sud, and the Open Society Foundation, among countless others.
Laurent Manuel
Producer
Laurent is a former professional soccer player from New York City. He was drafted by the New York Red Bulls MLS team in 2008 upon graduation from Brown University and went on to play professionally for five years in Europe and Israel, where he gained a unique perspective on the global identity of the game.
Laurent’s passion is the transformative power of sport in education. He is actively committed to the Ecole Active Bilingue Jeannine Manuel (EABJM), a non-profit international school founded by his grandmother with the mission to promote international understanding through education. Through the metaphor of football, CHANGING THE GAME, brings together Laurent’s experience playing soccer in eleven countries on three continents and his belief in soccer’s power to change young lives.
